Pulse is owned and operated by Dr. Gabriel Ferrer Cañals. Dr. Ferrer Cañals was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Animal Science before graduating from Michigan State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. After receiving his Doctor in Veterinary Medicine (DVM), he completed a Medicine and Surgery rotating internship at The Ohio State University followed by a Specialized Dermatology Internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in Houston, Texas.

Following his passion for diagnostic imaging, he attended two separate intensive immersion programs in Veterinary Soft Tissue Ultrasound and Veterinary Echocardiography. During these programs, Dr. Ferrer-Cañals trained with decorated veterinary cardiologists and radiologists, and received Advanced Imaging Certificates of Proficiency in both abdominal and cardiac ultrasound. Dr. Ferrer- Cañals is also an active member of the International Veterinary Ultrasound Society.

After almost 24 years in the United States, Dr. Ferrer-Cañals decided to move back, with his family, to his precious island of Puerto Rico to be closer to extended family, and to help the veterinary community by providing high-quality veterinary ultrasound services. After providing 2 years of mobile ultrasound services in Puerto Rico, we finally opened a primary Ultrasound Imaging Center.
